Construction Paper Christmas Ornaments

Day One

Today Becky opened her first envelope! Since we were planning on decorating the Christmas tree anyway, I recommended she open this envelope:

This is what was inside:

I included some construction paper, glue sticks, paper circles for snowflakes, embroidery floss for hanging the ornaments, and some examples of the ornaments we could make.

Here are some 3D ornaments we made, except you can't really tell in this picture that they're 3D.  To make this you create a shape that is symmetrical, then you trace it so there are 3 of them. Cut them out and fold them in half. Then glue the halves together.

These ones were really neat too. We just used  strips of paper and taped them into shapes.

Paper Snowflakes! I had already traced and cut out circles from white paper, so we just folded the circles and cut random pieces away to make a snowflake.

We made these little guys by taking two strips and taping the ends together like they are in the picture on the right. Then you would fold whichever strip is on the bottom over the other one. So to start you would fold the green down over the red, then the red to the left over the green.

Here is Becky focusing really hard on her creation-and here are some more snowflakes!

Our ornaments and the mess left over!

Our ornaments were the first ones on the tree!
